What is a youth clinic?

Every large city in France has a youth clinic. It is a place of welcome, listening, exchange, information, guidance and support for young people aged 13 to 25.

They are welcome to the centre and given advice on a confidential basis. Visits are free of charge and normally no appointment is required, but because of the pandemic, access is reserved to appointments, which you can book at any time during the week; however, phone consultations are available with no need for appointments every Friday from 12:00 to 15:00. We are committed to being very watchful to confidentiality and discretion.

ESJ London is aimed at 13-25 years old. It is open every Friday between 12 pm and 3pm and the clinic takes place at the premises of the Dispensaire Français - Société Française de Bienfaisance, in Hammersmith.

An online chat is also available on the ESJ London website outside opening hours.

What is it for?

ESJ London addresses all youth specific health issues:

addictions, bullying, dermatology, emotional wellbeing, love, nutrition, sexuality...

The clinic is operated by three professionals:

a psychologist, a doctor and one person from the Dispensaire Français. Their role is to welcome, listen and guide young persons. They can advise and, if needed, refer to other health professionals at the Dispensaire Français (gynaecologist, nutritionist, psychologist, dermatologist, nurse) or to British public health services (NHS).

A unique service-offer in London

Teenage years are a pivotal time marked by important physical and mental changes. Many young people have questions about these changes and address their concerns with risk-taking experiences.

ESJ is the only place in London where they can be listened to and receive free of charge advice in French.

The clinic is aimed at teenagers of the French London schools as well as students, interns, and young professionals who come to the UK with little knowledge of the British health system.
